How It All Started
The idea for Shok Sandesh Card came during a moment of profound personal loss. Our founders realized that in the midst of grief, the last thing families should worry about is the stress of traditional printing, outdated formats, and long wait times for condolence cards.
In India, when a loved one passes away, the family must immediately notify hundreds of relatives — in person, via phone, newspaper notices, and WhatsApp. Traditional printed cards required a trip to the printer, hours of waiting, and significant cost. For families already overwhelmed by grief, this was an added burden no one should bear.
We asked ourselves: "Why can't every family create a beautiful, dignified shok sandesh card from their phone — in Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, or English — within minutes?"
Launched in 2020, Shok Sandesh Card quickly became India's most trusted platform for digital condolence notices. Today we serve over 10,000 grieving families across India every year, with templates for every ceremony — from Antim Sanskar and Shok Sabha to Terahvin, Chautha, Pagdi Rasam, and Barsi.
